Commercial & Estate Work

Managing Trees on a Commercial Site Is a Different Job

There are more of them, they are usually bigger, and there is almost always something underneath that matters. A car park, a footpath, a boundary with a neighbour who will not be sympathetic.

Red Oak Tree Care works with businesses, estates, property managers and site owners across Surrey. We are tree surgery contractors rather than a grounds maintenance firm with a chainsaw in the van, and the difference shows up on the jobs where access is tight, the tree is close to a building, and there is no room for anything to go wrong.

Every job gets a written risk assessment and method statement before anyone starts, and we supply RAMS to your health and safety team as a matter of course rather than because you had to ask twice. For anything on a live construction site, we work to your induction and your rules.

Commercial Services

Commercial Tree Surgery and Site Work

Single jobs, phased programmes and ongoing maintenance schedules for sites across Surrey and the wider South East.

Tree Felling & Removal

Dead, dying, dangerous, or in the way of something you need to build. Sectional dismantling where a straight fell is not an option, which on most commercial sites it is not.

Tree felling in Surrey →

rr
Crown Reduction & Pruning

Trees overhanging car parks, blocking light to windows, or growing into buildings, signage and CCTV. Cut to BS3998 so the tree responds properly instead of throwing out weak regrowth.

Crown reduction →

Vegetation Management & Clearance

Overgrown boundaries, scrub, self-seeded growth along fence lines and access roads, and the neglected corners of a site. Cleared to a spec, with everything taken away.

Land Clearance

Site preparation ahead of development or groundworks. Trees, scrub and stumps removed, ground left workable for the next trade.

Stump Grinding

Ground out to depth so the area can be resurfaced, replanted or built on. Access checked in advance, since a grinder does not fit through every gate.

Stump removal →

Hedge Cutting

Boundary hedges, screening and long runs cut to height and taken away, rather than left in a pile for your grounds team to deal with.

Hedge cutting in Surrey →

Woodland Management & Estates

Thinning, deadwood removal, ride maintenance and phased work across larger holdings, planned around your budget cycle rather than crammed into one invoice.

rr
Emergency Tree Work

Trees down across access roads, limbs on roofs, storm damage blocking a car park. Same-day response for urgent safety issues.

Emergency removals →

Ongoing Commercial Tree Care

Scheduled visits on a maintenance programme rather than reactive call-outs, which is nearly always cheaper across a full year.

Customer Reviews

What Commercial Clients Say

“Mark came around to survey a number of trees at my property. He gave a competitive quote and responded to all communications quickly. He (and Dan) carried out the works with expertise, liaised with my neighbours and left my garden neat and tidy before leaving.”

Emma-Louise Harrison · Google review

“Great communication. They dealt with the council with preservation orders, and the neighbours. Good prices, professional service. Highly recommend.”

Nigel Driver · Google review

“It was not a big job but they were punctual and cleared up efficiently after the job was finished. And all at a competitive price.”

Why Red Oak Tree Care

Why Commercial Clients Choose Us

A small, experienced team that turns up when it says it will, with the paperwork already done.

£10m Public Liability

Public and employers’ liability cover on every job. We send the certificate before you ask for it.

NPTC-Qualified Team

Certified for the operations we carry out, including chainsaw use from rope and harness. All tree work meets BS3998.

RAMS as Standard

A written risk assessment and method statement before anyone starts, supplied to your health and safety team without being chased for it.

We Work Around Your Site

Outside opening hours, at weekends, or in phases so a car park or access road is never fully closed. Traffic management arranged where needed.

TPO & Consents Handled

Surrey is dense with preservation orders and conservation areas, and commercial sites are not exempt. We check before quoting and manage the application for you.

Everything Taken Away

All arisings removed and disposed of responsibly, unless you want chip or logs left on site. Some clients do.

How It Works

From First Call to Finished Job

01

Site Walk & Assessment

Mark comes out, walks the site, and looks at access, drop zones and proximity to buildings. We check the TPO and conservation area position with the council at this stage, before anything is priced.

02

Written Quote or Schedule

Work itemised properly so you can see what you are paying for and compare it fairly. Multi-site and ongoing maintenance work is priced as a schedule rather than job by job.

03

RAMS Issued, Then Work

Risk assessment and method statement issued before we arrive. Work carried out around your operating hours, with the site left clean and all arisings removed.

Common Questions

Commercial Tree Services, FAQs

Do you supply RAMS and insurance documents up front?

Yes. A written risk assessment and method statement is issued before we arrive on site, along with our £10m public liability certificate and the relevant NPTC certification. You should not have to chase a contractor for any of it.

Can you work outside our opening hours?

Usually yes. We can work early, late, at weekends, or in phases so a car park or access road is never fully closed. Tell us the constraint at the site visit and we will price the work around it.

Are commercial sites exempt from Tree Preservation Orders?

No. Protection applies regardless of who owns the land or what it is used for. In a conservation area you must give the council six weeks’ notice on any tree with a stem over 75mm measured at 1.5m above ground level. We check the position before quoting and handle the application on your behalf.

Do you take on multi-site or ongoing maintenance contracts?

Yes. Larger portfolios and estates are usually best handled as a phased schedule spread across budget years rather than a single reactive invoice. Planned work is significantly cheaper than emergency work, and it lets you forecast the cost.

Why is one quote so much cheaper than the others?

Ask that contractor three questions: certification for the specific operations, level of public liability cover, and whether disposal is included. The gap almost always turns out to be one of those three. If an uninsured contractor drops a limb through your roof, or your neighbour’s, it becomes your problem.

What happens to the timber and green waste?

All arisings are removed and disposed of responsibly as standard. If you would rather keep chip for beds and paths, or logs cut to length, tell us and we will leave them on site.
